What then shall we say........

Romans 8:31 What then shall we say in response to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

This work of art was inspired by Romans 8:31. The verse from Romans 8:31 is in the upper right hand corner of the work. The woman's cross is made of Swarovski crystals, further bringing the work into the same dimension as the viewer as they sparkle before the viewer as the light hits them. The woman's gauzy dress includes lace sleeves and ina juxtaposition with the light, graceful clothing the woman has two tattoos on her hands. Both tattoos have religious significance. The image to the right is the image on a solidus minted under Anastasius I Dicorus (produced during Constantinople between 507-518). The image is of Victory, holding a staff surmounted by a staurogram. The Staurogram, or Tau-Rho, was used by the Greeks as an abbreviation for the word cross. To the left is the image of a peacock which was a symbol of immortality and the belief in eternal life in heaven with God in Ancient Greek surrounded by the letters for alpha and omega, from the beginning to the end.
